Get Superfast Broadband for Trinity...

Turbo tablet"Our chance to get better connected in Trinity - Closes soon!

Please 'tweet', 'retweet', Facebook, call all friends and neighbours!

Local Councils are working in partnership to bring faster broadband to Uplyme, Combpyne-Rousdon and Axmouth.

The aim is to have:

  • Improved broadband (>2mbps) to every business and community across Devon and Somerset by 2015
  • Superfast broadband (>24mbps) to at least 85% of the area by 2015, with 100% by 2020

Faster broadband supports our businesses to be more competitive and helps communities’ access services, saving them money, information and learning opportunities.

This is our one big opportunity to shape the future of digital services in Trinity and ensure the economic prosperity of our rural areas, so it’s vital we all get involved now to help us get Trinity connected and up to speed.

We need to act now...!

The next step is to secure investment from the private sector to install the broadband in Trinity. To do that we need your help. We need to show there is strong demand for faster broadband and show what current speeds and coverage we have in Uplyme, Combpyne-Rousdon and Axmouth.

To do this we need you to fill in a simple survey and tell Connecting Devon and Somerset what your current speed is.

Or you can call the survey hotline on 0844 4636887

This helps to build a picture for suppliers of where the worst areas are and what the demand is for better broadband in those areas. If we don’t make it known what we want Connecting Devon and Somerset can’t help us get the best possible broadband.

Please don't hesitate, we can only succeed if we all act decisively now...

East Devon's Local Plan Review Closed 31st January

Local PlanTHE NEW Local Plan for East Devon public review has now closed.

The Local Plan Panel will be meeting in March to look at the Public feedback and to complete this plan ready to submit to the Planning Inspectorate.

Individual comments were welcomed and many Town and Parish Councils have put their final views forward – some after public meetings held at the beginning of January.

The main themes of the East Devon Local Plan are providing growth in jobs and homes whilst preserving and enhancing East Devon’s unique environmental assets.

Councillor Mike Allen, Chairman of the Local Plan Panel for East Devon, acknowledged that the Local Plan will not be able to deliver everybody’s wish list. But he added: “We want to aim for jobs and suitable housing for young and elderly residents, as well as the broad range of working age people. Although we aim for about 15,000 new dwellings, we have an expectation that initial delivery of homes and office space will be slow until 2013 and that more development will only come with improved economic growth and especially growth in incomes.

Green wedges

He said green wedges will separate towns from each other and every attempt to preserve AONB and Agricultural Land is written into the plan.

Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
